Apply to sell branded used books
I NEED HELP! I have many books that I need to "apply to sell" One of the documents required is to "Show the combined purchase of at least 10 units" What does that mean? Do I need to buy 10 units every time a different approval to sell a used book is required? Thank you

"Do I need to buy 10 units every time a different approval to sell a used book is required?"
As a used bookseller, you probably have realized buying 10 new copies of a book in order to sell your one used copy probably is not practical, unless you quite often sell used books from that particular publisher.
Those books whose publishers, in collaboration with Amazon, demand multi-book purchases and invoices, can be sold elsewhere with no such requirements.

Hello @Seller_aJzA13bSPdw8K,
My name is Dougal from the Community Manager Team and I am happy to assist.
Can you provide a bit more context to your question or describe where you are hitting this requirement? OR, if you have a case ID that provides all the relevant info, please provide that ID here and I can definitely take a look.
What you posted here sounds like a step in the Apply to sell a product, category, or brand Seller University video, but I do not want to assume that is what you are experiencing.
Happy to assist further wherever I am able.
Best, Dougal

It's pretty straightforward, there are three steps that always lead nowhere for the seller.

of course ... the shipment ID is FBA18G2GBFCL
but unfortunately/fortunately, the issues with that shipment have 'fixed' themselves ...
amazon magic ... lol

Hi @Seller_pP1WLqRuXala5,
I am so happy to read that the issue has been fixed for you.
I do absolutely understand that the wholistic issue is still a thing and I am ready to dive back in at any point if this happens again. I have also been working with an FBA contact to work through this and so far, here's what I got:
Yes, you will continue to hit the invoice requirement if trying to reconcile shipments as this is their SOP... as you are sell aware. There are ways to refute (from what I have seen so far... more than once) to get the issue escalated to the team that can provide the reimbursement. Typically, this comes with the burden of "proof," or in this case explanation being on the Seller.... I know this is NOT an ideal seller experience.
My path forward is to take real multiple real world examples that I can present to my new contacts that show how this IS a negative seller experience to see if it is possible to make some changes.

LOL, I did know this and there is a slight caveat... although BMVD aren't required to list with a brand name.... they CAN. This is why I thought the issue with Tor might be brand related and where I thought I could have an impact.... I still can, just not down the road I thought.
Up to now, I have not had a ton of diving into books.... It is a different beast for sure, but I am more than happy to help you and other sellers work through it!
Best, Dougal

@Dougal_Amazon
happy holidays and all that,
notice that when i said fixed, that it was in quotes ... most of my inventory magically appeared (but not all) therefore the request for an invoice was removed ... but, as you mentioned, the greater issue still exists ...
reimbursements and reimbursement calculations are another area where amazon uses the invoice request as a weapon against us ... when a reimbursement amount was lower than it should be (and it always was), trying to get a re-calculation was always stonewalled by support asking for an invoice .... put aside the fact that amazon was breaking their own policy when calculating the reimbursement amounts in the first place by low balling us, when called on it, they wouldn't simply do the proper calculation, they would hold up their stop sign and say "invoice please", knowing full well that used book sellers could not provide one .... it felt kinda like when you would question a parent on the sensibility of a rule, and they would just say "because i said so" .... it's what you do when you know that you're in the wrong but you also know that you have power over the other individual who at the moment you are screwing over ....
for when you have the time and the desire for something to read, SS case ID 14980706481
it's the only time, that i've asked for a reimbursement recalculation and actually got it, even though support, initially, wanted an invoice ... personally, i think that it's some of my best work lol
the downside is that it took me the better part of a day to craft, and, in the end, i was credited $13
not the best business model, making $13 for several hours of work
i bring this case to your attention because i thought of it when reading this ...

I guess that's my question though. One seems to follow from the other. Are these two unrelated issues or one? And my first question would be Why was my request to sell TOR books declined? Also, TOR isn't the first publisher to have done this. And it has even occurred with older, second-hand books. Obviously, there's something more to this picture.
As for the the book and screenshot you shared, You were declined to sell the Brand "TOR BOOKS," which owns the ISBN and that is why you have been unable to list.
I will be happy to investigate further, but since this is where the books listing issue parts ways, please start a new discussion and any case ID's you can provide on your selling application for the brand you include would certainly help.

Can you provide a link for doing that? I went to Seller Central and can find no link that would allow my to contact Seller Support or open a case. Amazon seems to enjoy making simple things difficult.
