Listing suddenly disappeared from front page
Hi,
Have you noticed a big change on your search result ?
One of our listing’s organic ranking was on front page for a long time when we used the main keyword to search, but just this afternoon(even this morning it’s on front page) it has disappeared from front page, and most of competitors listings have disappeared too.
Did Amazon change something ?

Maybe if you posted the ASIN/s, someone would be able to check it for you to see if they are appearing to them without issues.

Hi DellaZ,
We’re having the exact same issue - a product of ours which has appeared on the first page for the past 3 months is now on the third page overnight. Most of the competitors under this search term have also dissipated. Spoke to Amazon and got the typical, your ASIN is active, try improving the title etc.
Hopefully someone will quickly find a resolution for this issue?

Same for us, search results are all over the place - same for our competitors also.
ASINs typically on page 3 or 4 are now the top search results. Could it be a temporary algorithm change to move old stock from FBA warehouses?? Or just a glitch in the matrix?

Yes i have noticed the same on my product keyword iwas number 2 only yesterday night, now since this morning near bottom of Page 1. Some of my competitors whose listings were in the top 10 have all but disappeared. Some on Page 4 for example. All this has happened since this morning.
Has something changed at Amazon like how they willl rank keywords, i have not seen any announcement of such lately so this is very random.

Does this practice happen regularly where the most expensive listings probably lower selling ones, all of a sudden appear higher up the listings.
What about sellers who may have spent quite a fair bit in PPC to drive organic sales and as a result go up higher in keywords rankings in there category- doing things the right way and spending a lot to achieve that to then find there listings have all of a sudden gone a few pages down.
I can see why Amazon might do it to allow lower selling listings the chance to shift some stock, but they are impacting other sellers who have done nothing wrong. May be Amazom should refund the PPC costs to such sellers if they think it is ok to put them a few pages down randomly so others can shift stock.

Happens to us all the time. Nodes being wiped, reset, listings page 1 then page 4 then back to 1 then Amazon choice then disappeared off search altogether.
Sell on Amz long enough and you’ll see it all.
SS ? Don’t waste their time. They’re too busy closing cases. 85% of issues are over their pay grade anyway.

we have had this issue on several listings i opened up several cases about this and nothing was done so i tried a few thing myself and found that if i went into the listing and clicked edit then re-saved it it appeared back on the front page. i believe it was to do with it not showing the correct shipping template even though all our products were on the same shipping template some seemed not to reflect this. After i edited and re-saved seemed fine for a few days then i had to do it again although the issue seems to have been fixed on most of ours now

Did you guys notice this when browsing uncached by chance? (fresh cookieless browser)
I just noticed that the search results appear to still be “normal” when using my personal browser (i.e depending on whether i use cached or non cached browser - the results are completely different).
Not sure what exactly this means, maybe some tech savvy heads in here can advise!

Amazon have likely implemented a search algo update, here’s one they did earlier this year:

I’ve noticed a change. My product was 1st page and since yesterday it has gone to the 3rd page. The thing is, I check my competitors all the time and they look scattered too. Another thing I’ve noticed using Amazon app is that instead of scrolling all the way down to see other products, Amazon has now done separate pages on the app where you can click next. This definitely was not like this 3 days ago. Definitely made a massive impact on my sales and not in a good way.
