Return QR code not working
Hello,
Quite frequently I have been getting the following message
‘The QR code you sent me to return these items is not being recognised by the scanner in the Post Office? Please can you send me another one that works.’
- I’m paying for the automatic label being sent to the customer for them to return it correct?
- I’m also paying for a second label to the customer, therefore costing me £6-8 every time a customer has a ‘change of mind’ on the item they have purchased
- Is there a setting I can change so I can send the initial return label?
Thanks all

1 - Yes, but only if scanned
2 - Again, you’ll only be charged for the amazon prepaid label if it is scanned. And for change of mind (unless its jewellery or clothing) the return costs are the customers
3 - No, not unless the product is over £100
Just to add, we are getting this occasionally. but mostly on the Evri labels and the shop won’t accept the QR code. We always assumed the customer is only presented a print at home label (as that is what we see in manage returns, and what it states in the policy details). But we got confirmation from a customer today that they were provided a QR code. I imagine its either stores don’t want to take the parcel, or their scanners are broken. All we do is supply one of our own Royal Mail Tracked 48 return labels, it costs less than the amazon one - so it works out better anyway (again, only if the customer is not liable for the return costs)
