Tracking profit/lose on a return
I keep track of the items and price I buy on a a google spreadsheet to track profits.
(sell price - shipping cost - item price = profit.) I recently got a couple of returns, I want to make sure I am keeping track correctly but am a little confused. I am wondering what the correct way is to keep track on a spreadsheet.
For example: I bought an item for $85. I sold it for $115.50 and paid $12.47 to ship it, leaving me $18.03 profit. Amazon refunded the customer $92.42, the return label was $9.25.
How much did I lose? I think I lost $1.37 after the return but am not sure. (refund amount + return label + my shipping cost - selling price)
If anyone can help clear this up it would be appreciated! Thanks!
